The undefeated Roman Gonzalez entered this fight with a perfect boxing record of 40-0-0 (34 KOs=85%) and he is ranked as the No.2 flyweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Juan Francisco Estrada); he has fought three times in 2014 beating Juan Kantun (=Gonzalez vs Kantun), Juan Purisima and Akira Yaegashi (=Yaegashi vs Gonzalez) winning the Wbc Flw belt (thanks to this victory he has won world titles in three different weight classes).
