“Matamoros” (in Spanish) is Moor-slayer and is the name given to the Christians who persecuted Jews and Muslims during the Reconquista of the fifteenth century, but in our case we are speaking about the best Pro Jiu Jitsu practitioners of the world: Metamoris (thanks to JiuJitson for the correction). These superfights have different rules from the common BJJ rules: the time limit is 20 minutes instead of 10 min (as usually in the black belt fights) but the most interesting thing is that it is possible to win only by submission! If there is no submissions (or disqualifications) the fight ends in a tie.
The second event of Metamoris Pro Jiu-Jitsu Invitational, METAMORIS II, is scheduled to take place June 9, 2013 at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, and it is headlined by the main event Shinya Aoki vs Kron Gracie.
All the Metamoris full fight videos are free embeddable videos hosted on Youtube and they were not uploaded by AllTheBestFights, to report it please visit the Youtube’s channel where the videos are hosted.

The name: “Matamoros” refers to the time of la Reconquista in Spain. The term Metamoris has nothing to do with that era nor should it be associated to a completely unrelated historical event. That being said, I will agree, one of the best damn jiu jitsu events that has happened in recent times.
