3 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2015-05-30, great fight between Kosei Tanaka and Julian Yedras: it gets three stars.

The undefeated 19-year-old Kosei Tanaka (eight years younger than Yedras) entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 4-0-0 (2 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.4 minimumweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Wanheng Menayothin). He fought three times last year beating Ronelle Ferreras, Crison Omayao and Ryuji Hara.
His opponent, Julian Yedras (or Julian Yedra), has an official record of 24-1-0 (13 knockouts) and he entered as the No.38 in the same weight class. He suffered his only defeat in 2013 when he faced Carlos Buitrago (=Yedras vs Buitrago), after this bout he has won three fights. Tanaka vs Yedras is valid for the vacant WBO World minimumweight title. Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. Very entertaining, quite even and fast pace fight. It is remarkable the efforts that both boxers did. Tanaka in spite of his reduced experience as a professional was very loose and relaxed producing excellent combinations and very good body punches. Yedras never stop his aggression and was fighting toe to toe with the japonese during the whole fight. I saw also the Japanese winning but for a little margin, no more than 2 to 3 points difference. Some of the scores from the judges involved were quite partial and inaccurate.
In my opinion, Japan isn’t a safe country to go for a fight when a boxer is defending his title. Usually the final result favor the locals unless the foreign boxer can knock down or knock out the local.
