UFC on Fuel TV 6: Franklin vs Le video teaser
On Saturday, November 10, the UFC will mark its first ever trip to China as part of their final FUEL TV card of the year.
The main event will see former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (29-6, 1 NC) against former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le (8-2).
Cung Le (age 40) is a former International Kickboxing Federation light heavyweight world champion, having a professional Sanshou record of 16-0 before moving to mixed martial arts (Le also held an undefeated kick-boxing record of 17-0). In his last match he got a victory against Patrick Cote at UFC 148, but is the match with Wanderlei Silva that made history: at UFC 139 Le had a good start with his kicks, and landed a spinning backfist that dropped Silva. During the second round, Silva bombed Le with huge punches and knees that completely broke Le’s nose. Fedor ‘The Last Emperor’ Emelianenko has always been a thorn in the side of Dana White.
The UFC president has almost ever taken what he wanted to take. Almost.
It’s also no secret that Emelianenko retired without ever fighting for the UFC, in spite of the several attempts that Dana did to make him sign to fight in the Octagon.
During the years, White has been critical of Emelianenko’s regard as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, but now that the Russian has retired, he can be more honest about his value.
“Do I think that Fedor is one of the greatest heavyweights ever? Yes, he’s one of the greatest heavyweights ever. I’ll give you that,” White said.

MMA News – Stephan Bonnar officially retires from MMA
Stephan Bonnar confirmed his retirement via Facebook following UFC President Dana White’s announcement during a MetroPCS chat on Tuesday night.
‘The American Psycho’ (15-8 MMA, 8-7 UFC), 35 years old, recently was on a three-fight win streak, before facing the legend Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva: after an 11-month layoff, the light heavyweight Bonnar in fact returned to the cage this past month at UFC 153 in a late-notice opportunity in Brazil against dominant UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in a 205-pound non-title fight.
The match had no story, he lost via first-round TKO and Silva seemed to mock him during some exchanges (= Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar)

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo (21-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will face former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (14-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) on Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, on February 2, 2013.
The UFC had held a Las Vegas pay-per-view event on the eve of the NFL’s Super Bowl every year since 2004, usually at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Aldo and Edgar were expected to be the headliners of UFC 153, which took place earlier this month in Brazil, but Aldo had a motorcycle accident that forced him out, so Anderson Silva ended up facing Stephan Bonnar in the night’s main event.

MMA News – Dana White says Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva ‘absolutely will happen’
“I said it in Brazil, and I’ll say it again: Hell yes, they will (fight)” Dana White said Tuesday during MetroPCS online chat.
But it will not be easy, because both of them have other plans (watch Anderson Silva UFC 153 post fight interview) and Jon ‘Bones’ Jones (17-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) said he wants to be a heavyweight as early as next year.
Anderson Silva (33-4 MMA, 16-0 UFC) has always said that his desire is to fight welterweight champ Georges St Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC), who will make his most-anticipated return in the Octagon in less than 3 weeks (UFC 154: St Pierre vs Condit).

MMA News – Pat Barry vs Shane del Rosario official for December’s TUF 16 Finale
Now is official: Pat Barry (7-5 MMA, 4-5 UFC) and Shane del Rosario (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will meet on the main card of the TUF 16 Finale on December 15 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The main event will be a fight between veteran “TUF 16” coaches Shane Carwin (12-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Roy Nelson (17-7 MMA, 4-3 UFC).
Pat Barry, one of the UFC’s most popular heavyweights is just 2-4 in his past six fights. However, he fought always with great opponents, including Mirko ‘Cro Crop’ Filipovic, Cheick Kongo (five star match for one of the most unpredictable endings ever!!!), Stefan Struve and Lavar Johnsony, so his bad record is understandable. His last victory was a great bout with Christian Morecraft on January 20, 2012 (Fight of the Night – look at that punch!).

MMA News – UFC 155 fight card and trailer: Phil Davis replaces Chael Sonnen and will face Forrest Griffin
At UFC 155 on December 29 in Las Vegas Phil Davis will face former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin.
Griffin was originally scheduled to face Chael Sonnen, but Sonnen was designed to become a coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter against Jon Jones. The two will also fight for Jones’ title in April of 2013.
Davis recently submitted Wagner Prado via an anaconda choke at UFC 153 (= Phil Davis vs Wagner Prado 2). Davis is 4-1 (with one no-contest) in his last six matches.
