Suriyan defeated Nashiro by unanimous decision defending for the first time his WBC super flyweight title. Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (19-4-1) entered as the No.1 super flyweight in the world while Nobuo Nashiro (15-3-1) entered as the No.12. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, unfortunately the fight between Mike Zambidis and Batu Khasikov is interrupted in the middle of the first round due to a jaw fracture of the Greek. Zambidis vs Khasikov is valid for the W5 World Champion title (Zambidis had won this title against Dzhabar Askerov, 2011-04-09). Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, nice and very fast submission of Terry Etim that defeated Edward Faaloloto in just 17 seconds and earned the night’s “Submission of the Night” award. Terry Etim entered the fight with a record of 14-3-0 while Edward Faaloloto had a record of 2-2-0. Etim vs Faaloloto was on the undercard of Chris Leben vs Mark Munoz (UFC 138). Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, good action on the ground in the second round but unfortunately the first session was boring: two stars. Anthony Perosh defeated Diabate by submission (rear-naked choke). Review: 2011-11-05, great victory for Thiago Alves that submits Papy Abedi in the first round after a nice combination of punches. Review: 2011-11-05, both fighters start strong but Renan “Barao” Pegado surprises Brad Pickett with a hard knee that rocks the english, so the Brazilian tries to finish him with ground and pound but then submits Pickett with one of the best action of the year (it is very close to our 4 stars). Brad Pickett, ranked as the No.8 bantamweight in the world, entered the fight with a record of 20-5-0 while Renan “Barao” Pegado had a record of 26-1-0. Pickett and Barao were awarded “Fight of the Night” honors (undercard of Leben vs Munoz – UFC 138). Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, nice fight and good action between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz but unfortunately the fight ends by TKO at the end of the second round, if not it could get our four stars. Chris Leben entered the fight with a record of 22-7-0 while Mark Munoz, No.5 middleweight in the world, had a record of 11-2-0. Leben vs Munoz was s the main event of the UFC 138. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-04, pleasant fight between Denis Lebedev and James Toney but it is not enough for our thre stars. Lebedev dominates “Lights Out” Toney winning by unanimous decision. Denis Lebedev (22-1-0) entered as the No.5 cruiserweight in the world while James Toney (73-6-3) entered as the No.16. Lebedev vs Toney was valid for the interim WBA World cruiserweight title. Review: 2007-07-07, Vic Darchinyan was still undefeated and was the reigning champion of the IBF and IBO flyweight titles while Nonito Donaire was at his first attempt for a world title. The fight starts with a good pace with both boxers throwing power punches and at the end of the fourth round Press scored a majority draw but the Filipino Donaire strikes “Raging Bull” Darchinyan with a perfect left hook during the fifth and the match is over! Donaire vs Darchinyan was awarded as the “Knockout of the Year” of 2007 (by The Ring magazine). Vic Darchinyan entered the fight with a record of 28-0-0 while “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire had a record of 17-1-0 (they also faced a second time on November 9, 2013: Donaire vs Darchinyan 2). Review: 2008-01-11, after his second defeat (against Kelly Pavlik, one of the fights of the year of 2007) and before the rematch against Arthur Abraham, Edison “Pantera” Miranda faced the American David Banks in the super middleweight division. After two tactical rounds, Miranda picks up the pace and knocks Banks out with a perfect right hand that sends David Banks outside of the ring! Miranda vs Banks was awarded as the “Knockout of the Year” (by The Ring magazine). Edison Miranda entered the fight with a record of 29-2-0 while David Banks had a record of 15-3-1. Watch the video!
