Review: 2007-05-19, when two explosive boxers with the habit of KO face each other, usually it comes a very nice fight, as happened between Kelly Pavlik and Edison Miranda (match valid for the WBC middleweight title eliminator). Pavlik (30-0-0) came from the nth victory by knockout (against Jose Luis Zertuche) and he had never lost in his career, while Miranda (28-1-0) suffered the first defeat against Arthur Abraham (one of the best fights of 2006), but he had just won the undefeated Allan Green. Review: 2007-11-03, Joe Calzaghe vs Mikkel Kessler was a very exciting fight (between two undefeated boxers) valid for the WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight titles. Calzaghe (43-0-0) had won his WBO title in 1997 (against Chris Eubank) and had already defended it twenty times, but he was 35 years old and Kessler (39-0-0), who was younger than seven, had the potential to inflict the first defeat to the “Italian Dragon”…but in front of more than 50,000 spectators, Calzaghe threw more than 1000 punches in twelve rounds (against 585 of Kessler). 2007 best BOXING fight – Michael Katsidis vs Graham Earl – full fight Video
Review: 2007-02-17, if the second fight between Vazquez and Marquez did not win the title of “fight of the year of 2007”, it could win the match between Michael Katsidis and Graham Earl, valid for the interim WBO lightweight title. Katsidis was undefeated (21-0-0) and for the first time fought outside Australia. Katsidis knocks down Earl (25-1-0) two times at the end of the first round but during the second period, after another knock down suffered by the English boxer, is Katsidis to be counted: this bout was a real war, five stars! Review: 2007-08-04, Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez have faced twice in 2007, but the best fight between the two is the second, winner of the title “fight of the year” (Ring Magazine). Vazquez (41-4-0) had lost the first fight and wanted to regain his WBC super bantamweight title. Abraham (21-0-0) defended his IBF middleweight title for the third time against the dangerous Colombian “Pantera” Miranda (26-0-0).
