Like the second match between the two (in 2007), this one won the title of “Fight of the Year” (by Ring Magazine), even if for example we have preferred the fight between Casamayor and Katsidis or other 5-star fights of 2008. Rafael Marquez knocked down Vazquez in the fourth round but at the end of this balanced and spectacular fight the winner is “Magnifico” Vazquez. Watch the video!

Godoy knocked down Abalos in the second round and was dominating the match, but in the ninth round Abalos headbutts him, Godoy is in trouble and receives a standing count, it seems he can not continue to fight. So the referee Hernan Guajardo stops the fight, the winner should be Abalos, but the Godoy’s corner begins almost a broil and the public threw bottles and chairs over the ring! Under pression the referee changes the decision and Godoy wins the fight by reading the card. Watch the video!

Manny Pacquiao, after winning a world title in three different categories (flyweight, super bantamweight and super featherweight), tried to win also the WBC lightweight title versus David Diaz. The difference in speed between the two boxers was huge, Diaz said after the match that he did not see the punches of Pacquiao, so the Filipino made him part of boxing’s history as the first Asian boxer to win four world titles in four weight classes!
