Askren defeated Hieron by split decision defending his Bellator welterweight title. The undefeated Ben Askren entered the fight with a record of 8-0-0 while Jay Hieron had a record of 22-4-0. Review: 2011-10-29, nice KO (awarded as “Knockout of the Night”) of Bart Palaszewski that defeated Tyson Griffin in the first round, preliminary card of the “UFC 137: Penn vs Diaz”. Tyson Griffin entered the fight with a record of 15-5-0 while Bart Palaszewski had a record of 33-13-0. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-10-29, three stars for the nice fight between Dennis Siver and Donald Cerrone, preliminary card of the “UFC 137: Penn vs Diaz”. At the beginning of the first round Cerrone almost knocks Siver out with a nice head kick, instead the fight ends shortly after with the “Submission of the Night” (rear-naked choke) of Cerrone. Dennis Siver entered the fight with a record of 19-7-0 while Donald Cerrone had a record of 16-3-0. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-10-29, nice fight with three knockdowns in the first and unique round of the rematch between Hernan Marquez and Luis Concepcion. The Panamian boxer, “El Nica” Concepcion, starts strong but at the first combination of Hernan “Tyson” Marquez he goes down and the fight ends shortly after (at the third knockdown). Hernan Marquez (31-2-0) entered as the No.4 flyweight in the world while Luis Concepcion (23-2-0) entered as the No.9. Marquez vs Concepcion 2 was valid for the WBA World flyweight title (in the first fight Marquez defeated Concepcion by TKO in the eleventh round, one of the best boxing fights of 2011). Review: 2011-10-29, balanced fight but not very spectacular between Hatsu Hioki and George Roop: two stars. Hioki defeated Roop by unanimous decision, undercard of BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz (UFC 137). Hatsu Hioki entered the fight with a record of 24-4-2 while George Roop had a record of 12-8-1. Watch the video!

Review: 2011-10-29, after the first round won by Roy Nelson, “Cro Cop” Filipovic almost knocks “Big Country” out with an impressive combination of punches (at the beginning of the second round) but Nelson survives and at the end of the round traps the Croatian in a crucifix and almost finishes him! The bout is stopped in the third round during another good action of Nelson that defeated Cro Cop by TKO (UFC 137: Penn vs Diaz). Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic entered the fight with a record of 27-9-2 while Roy Nelson had a record of 16-6-0. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-10-29, boring fight between Cheick Kongo and Matt Mitrione: one star. Kongo defeated Mitrione by unanimous decision, undercard of BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz (UFC 137). After a first balanced round, Nick Diaz dominates BJ Penn thanks to his boxing skills winning the fight by unanimous decision. BJ Penn (16-7-2) entered as the No.9 welterweight in the world while Nick Diaz (26-7-1) entered as the No.5. Penn vs Diaz was awarded as “Fight of the Night” (main event of the UFC 137).
