Review: 2011-11-06, pleasant fight between Gago Drago and Bovy Sor Udomson but it is not enough to get our three stars (Shoot The Shooto 2011). Bovy defeated Drago by unanimous decision. Gago Drago, ranked as the No.10 middleweight in the world entered the fight with a record of 74-21-4 while Bovy Sor Udomson had a record of 83-43-2. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-06, even with two knockdowns (in the first and second round) the main event of the “Shoot The Shooto 2011” between Andy Souwer and Toby Imada was not very spectacular: two stars. Souwer defeated Imada by unanimous decision taking revenge on the Japanese since in their first fight Imada had won. Andy Souwer, ranked as the No.5 middleweight in the world, entered the fight with a record of 141-12-1 while Toby Imada had a record of 3-1-0 (in kickboxing while in mma 29-16-0). Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-06, pleasant fight with four knockdowns between Shinsuke Yamanaka and Christian Esquivel. In the sixth round Yamanaka knocks down Esquivel but in the seventh is the Mexican that surprises the Japanese. The fight ends in the eleventh round when Yamanaka knocks down Esquivel two times winning the vacant WBC bantamweight title. The undefeated Shinsuke Yamanaka (14-0-2) entered as the No.6 bantamweight in the world while Christian Esquivel (24-2-0) entered as the No.10. Yamanaka vs Esquivel was on the undercard of Takahiro Ao vs Devis Boschiero. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-06, balanced fight but not good for eight rounds but from the ninth Devis Boschiero surprisingly has more energy than the defending champion Takahiro Ao, the Italian wins the latest four rounds but inexplicably two judges give the win to the Japanese. Takahiro Ao (21-2-1) entered as the No.3 super featherweight in the world while Devis Boschiero (29-0-1) entered as the No.59 (but after this fight, even if the Italian lost it, he is ranked No.19, probably someone noticed the error of the judges). Takahiro Ao vs Boschiero was valid for the WBC super featherweight title. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, tough fight but not very technical between Guillermo Jones and Michael Marrone: two stars. Jones knocks down Marrone two times and in the sixth his corner stopped the fight. Guillermo Jones entered the fight with a record of 37-3-2 while Michael Marrone had a record of 20-3-0. Jones vs Marrone is valid for the WBA World cruiserweight title. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-05, the fight between Mariusz Wach and Jason Gavern was not very spectacular: two stars. “The Viking” Wach knocks down Gavern both in the first and in the second round and wins by TKO in the sixth (referee stoppage). The undefeated Mariusz Wach (25-0-0) entered as the No.59 heavyweight in the world while Jason Gavern (21-8-4) entered as the No.52. Review: 2011-11-05, nice and fast knockout of Che Mills that defeated Chris Cope in just 40 seconds and earned the night’s “Knockout of the Night” award. Reagan Penn, brother of BJ Penn, was at his second professional fight in mma (1-0-0), while Evan Cutts had only one more fight (2-0-0). Review: 2011-11-05, at the end of the third round Andrei Arlovski knocks Travis Fulton out with one of the best ko of the year but unfortunately the fight was boring and we can’t give more than three stars.
