2 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2015-06-27, fight not particularly exciting between Oscar Valdez and Ruben Tamayo: it gets two stars.

The undefeated Oscar Valdez entered this fight with a perfect boxing record of 15-0-0 (14 KOs=93%) and he is ranked as the No.50 super featherweight in the world; he has already fought once in 2015 beating Jose Ramirez.
His opponent, Ruben Tamayo, has a record of 25-5-4 (17 knockouts) and he entered as the No.40 featherweight. He fought three times last year winning over Ivan Reyes and Efrain Esquivias but then he lost to Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar in a fight valid for the interim Wba Fw belt. Valdez vs Tamayo is on the undercard of Timothy Bradley vs Jessie Vargas. Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. Valdez did an excellent job in front of a left handed boxer with a lot of ring experience. He connected a lot of head punches with great accuracy but forgot at all to go for the body which permitted Tamayo finishing the fight with still good mobility.
I’m quite surprised that the fight didn’t ended with a knock out since Valdez’s record show him as a very impressive power puncher.

  2. guess his record is a bit padded.
He was landing with all the power he could muster.

    Nerveless – getting showing.

    • You could be right with your comment since most of them looks like as power punches to me unless Tamayo has an iron chin.
