Blondie has no defense except to clam up and take a barrage of punches. His offense is also nonexistent, throwing haymakers that rarely hit, and while he got a flash knockdown, his punches are beginning to be ineffective by the second round. It’s just bouncing off the other guy like it’s nothing.
If you lose your power, and you don’t know how to box and jab, then you’re screwed.
A very active fight due to an aggressive Mexican boxer that was trowing punches like a windmill with excessive rpms. Nery’s techniques are quite poor, he is too sloppy and missing far to many punches. If he goes for another 3 more rounds punching at this rate he would be totally exhausted. He is lucky that his adversary has a very low level too and is a soft puncher otherwise the result of this fight would be totally the opposite.
Nery requires a lot of guidance, coaching and practice to gain more tools and improve his actual ones (no many) in order to succeed in his career. Otherwise, he will lose his undefeated condition in no time.
The blondie isn’t Mexican. I don’t speak spanish but I heard the commentator say he’s Filipino.
And yeah, google/boxrec also say he’s Filipino.
DannyBoyJr: Thanks for the Info. However, since I do speak Spanish I know that the “Blondie” is a Filipino boxer. My comment above was just discussing the performance of Nery the Mexican boxer. I think Nery (and his coach of course) has not idea of what boxing techniques are all about. He undoubtedly has power hands but he doesn’t know at all how to use them since his performance during this fight seems to be coming from a guy just doing street fight. I guess a long way still to go to became a reasonable boxer.
