All four semifinalists for Bellator Fighting Championships’ 170-pound title made weight at the Wright Room at the Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn in Fairborn, Ohio.
Lyman Good (170.5) vs Michail Tsarev (171) is the main event. The Russian submission specialist comes from an 11-fight win streak and his wants to conquer a title shot to boost his career. His last match was during Bellator 74 against Tim Welch, and as usual the victory came by submission.
“For me, it would mean a lot,” ‘The Lonely Wolf’ said. “It would mean the next step in my career. I trained very hard, and I hope the best fighter will win tomorrow.”
On the other hand, former champ Good is on fire to regain the title he lost in 2010 to current champ Ben Askren. He started his road defeating LeVon Maynard in only 13 seconds and continued with a victory via decision against Jim Wallhead (= Lyman Good vs Jim Wallhead).
“I know that’s going to be one step closer to me getting what I really want,” Good said of a potential Bellator 78 win. “But I’m only focused on [Tsarev] right now, and that’s all that’s in my head.”
The co-main event and other semifinal is Andrey Koreshkov (170.5) vs Marius Zaromskis (170.5). ‘Spartan’ Koreshkov is undefeated, meanwhile Zaromskis has 5 victories in a row, including spectacular somersault kick KO against Bruno Carvalho.
Moreover the preliminary card includes a exciting women fight: Zoila Gurgel (123.5) vs Casey Noland (125.5). Zoila is the reigning Bellator Women’s Champion at 115 pounds, with a record of 12-1-0. The only loss was by an armbar of Miesha Tate.
