This Saturday in Nottingham, England, the main event at UFC on Fuel Tv 5 will be a fight between still-developing talents. Struve and Miocic emerged with great victories in heavyweight main card at UFC 146 in May. Most importantly for the fans, both fighters provided plenty of violence and entertainment potential. We believe that Saturday night the fight will not betray the expectations.
Stipe Miocic is undefeated (9-0, 3-0 UFC) and won with Shane del Rosario at UFC 146 (TKO).
But now he has to climb a “Skyscraper” named Stefan Struve, currently the tallest fighter in the UFC, standing 6 ft 11.5 in. “I trained with Tim Sylvia a little bit, he’s about 6’9″ so that helped out a lot. It’s tough to find someone like that, but we worked up a good game plan for what we’re going to do. I’m real confident,” Miocic told.
Struve, who, at 24, is six years younger than Miocic, has already acquired a wealth of UFC experience. Like his opponent, the Dutchman obtained an important victory at UFC 146, submitting the heavy-handed Lavar Johnson.
Miocic appears confident and knows this is a great opportunity for him: “They put me in a fight, it kept going my way and now I’m in a main event, can’t complain. [..]“I know I’m coming to fight, I know he’s coming to fight, so it’s going to be a fun night.”

Another important match is Dan Hardy Vs Amir Sadolloah. It has been a very hard period for Hardy, a fans’ favorite. He came from 4 losses in a row, and knew that a fifth loss would likely mean the end of his career inside the Octagon. But he faced Duane “Bang” Ludwig at UFC 146 and knocked him out. It was a great moment that he surely needed: “For me it was the way it was supposed to end. It was the way all my fights are supposed to end, and how I always predict them ending,” Hardy told. “Sometimes, it just doesn’t happen. The thing with Duane, and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it could have been either way that night. He hit me with a good shot early on, and it’s just one of those things you roll the dice and you’re willing to stand there and trade punches, you’re going to get caught, and it was my night that night.”
So a new era can start for Hardy. And it’ll take place in his home country, England. Is it just a coincidence?
