Buakaw Por Pramuk easily dispatched Italy’s Mauro Serra in the Thai Fight super-welterweight quarter finals at Bangkok Thonburi University. The Muay Thai superstar won with an impressive hailstorm of knees and kicks (= Buakaw vs Mauro Serra).
After the match he denied the rumors about the December dream clash with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao . He stated that his only booked fights are the Thai Fight semi-finals on November 25 and if he wins, the final at Bangkok’s Royal Plaza on December 16.
But another great boxer has challenged Buakaw: Manus Boonjumnong. The Thai boxer, won gold at the 2004 and silver at the 2008 Olympics Games, said he likes Muay Thai after a recent exhibition match in his home province of Ratchaburi and wants to train hard for a successful career in the country’s traditional martial art.
Asked about the possible match between Buakaw and Pacquiao, he ridiculed it: “Who will pay about 90 million baht to bring Pacquiao to fight here? Everybody knows this fight cannot be happen because Buakaw has a fight on December and it is illegal to fight within 15 days. Everybody in Thailand’s boxing circle knows that Buakaw cannot be punched. I don’t know who raised the idea of putting him against Pacquiao.
The possible dream fight should be Buakaw vs Somluck [Somrak Kamsing]. But looks like Buakaw was afraid of Somluck in both international boxing and Muay Thai rules”.
He then challenged Buakaw to fight him instead: “If there is anyone who is interested in promoting a fight between Buakaw and me although my body is not in good condition as Buakaw, I am ready to give him a few boxing lessons” he said.
Is it only envy?
