Incredible . massive win. Good fight from both well earned. Lopez didn’t give kambosis enough respect from the get go he heeded to use his boxing skills instead came out to brawl while kambosis stayed focussed on executing the jab and circling and landing big counters
Good fight rematch will be nice . Get loma in there also.
Amazing win for kambosis
Great fight! It was a very close one. I had it 113-113, same card as DAZN’s, except I gave the last one to Lopez. But I didn’t mind the victory going to Kambosos, because looking at the fight as a whole, I felt he had the edge. This is great for boxing in Australia – biggest upset since Tszyu beat Judah in 2001. Secret Cinema Lagos said it all, Lopez didn’t give Kambosos enough respect, before and during the fight. It took a knockdown and a couple more rounds for Lopez to realize this one wasn’t gonna be as easy as he thought. Hats off to Kambosos who was very disciplined and made incredible use of that overhand right.
I don’t think we’ll have a rematch. As Lopez said after the fight (and amongst all the things he said then, this one is the only one that wasn’t delusional) he’s got to move up in weight. Can you imagine a fight between Lopez and Gervonta Davis? Wow…! On his side, Kambosos will be targetting Haney and the ”real” WCB crown to unify at lightweight. Great fights in perspective!
113 to 113 is a delusional score almost as delusional as Lopez himself. I gave Lopez 4 rounds and at the very very most 5 rounds. He was soundly out-boxed through the majority of the fight. Kambosos was showing much greater stamina, endurance, and clearer connects.
So delusional? One ringside judge had it 114-113 for Lopez, most journalists and boxing fans around the world had it it a +2/-2 for one or the other around the 113-113 score. And also, looking at the compubox stats, Kambosos landed 182 of 739 punches (24.6%), and Lopez connected on 176 of 565 punches (31.2%). As I said, I’m okay with Kambosos as the winner, but it was a close fight nonetheless.
