Early in the fight, Lemieux shook his hand as if something wrong just happened. He broke his hand indeed and this explains probably why he couldn’t finish the job quickly (almost had it done anyway!). I think he took this fight too early after his latest victory.

In spite of his broken hand, as per Olivier info below, Lemieux was able to do a reasonable fight. However, he missed a lot of punches may be due to lack of concentration as a result of his injury. For the sake of his hand probably it was good to miss so much. Reyes was brave and very resistant thanks to his very strong chin.
I believe that Lemieux had the job done before he even entered he ring, he punches with intent to hurt the opponent both physically and mentally. Reyes must have fought some mediochre opposition, his roundhouse slapping puncing style will ensure that he says in the lower echelon of super middleweights, the only thing that he has got going for him is a good chin, another disadvantage if you are on the receiving end of damage as evidenced in this fight.
