Nieky Holzken entered this fight with a kickboxing record of 89-11-0 and he is ranked as the No.1 super middleweight in the world, the last time he lost was in 2012 when he faced L’houcine Ouzgni, since then he has won five consecutive bouts winning the Glory Ww tournament in 2013 beating Joseph Valtellini in the final (=Valtellini vs Holzken); after winning the Glory title he suffered a shoulder injury in a car accident so he fought just once, at the end of 2014, defeating Yusuf Karakaya.
His opponent, Alexander Stetsurenko, has an official record of 51-10-0 and he entered as the No.7 in the same weight class but he lost two out of his three fights of 2014: against Paul Daley and Karim Ghajji (between these two bouts he beat Sergey Parchinsky). Holzken vs Stetsurenko is the semifinal of the Glory welterweight contender tournament (the current champion is Joseph Valtellini); undercard of Rico Verhoeven vs Errol Zimmerman 3 – Glory 19.
