  1. An excellent knee strike defined the fight in spite of the fact that Stoica was still under the effects suffered from his knock down. A really good recovery.

    • It wasn’t technically a knockdown, he felt pain in his right punch, so he needed a moment of respite. He didn’t go down from a hit.

      • You may be right. However, Stoica received a right foot on his stomach before falling down that I believe was the cause of such knock down. I watched the fight again so please do the same to confirm since I didn’t notice at all that he was showing any problems on his hands while punching during the full fight.

        • You’re right, it looks like it because he was mildly touched to the stomach. But when he gets up you can see him rubbing his right glove. I read an interview after the fight and he said he felt a sharp pain in his hand, so he preferred being counted once, just to rest his hand for a few seconds. Even the commentator is amazed how fast he has recovered, because it was nothing wrong with his body, his shape was as good as before.

          • I haven’t read the interview but he confirmed he has problem with the right hand. So I’m not sure now or may be a pure coincidence and the knock down is a combination of both events, hand and the kick received by his stomach. I really don’t know however thank you for the info.

          • You’re welcome. As I know him, he’s pretty strong and tough to fall from such a soft hit. :)
I see his latest fight review is not working for some reason, and the page redirects to some 2008 Carl Froch fight… strange.
