Great performance by Bivol. Although I admire Canelo’s bravery in going up, he is not suitable for the weight. The Kovalev victory came against a faded, troubled fighter who hadn’t had much preparation.
We all doubted the judges would be fair tonight, and indeed they almost robbed the winner. 115-113 is a fantasy. It wasn’t close at all. Canelo won three clear rounds on my card, four at best.
All three cards are the same. Holding hands together while scoring a fight.
Bivol was amazing! Sorry for Canelo
Had it 117-111 for Bivol. 115-113 is a biiig stretch.
This is why there are WEIGHCLASSES in boxing.
To the people who think this is beautiful boxing, they should be reminded that were not watching two evenly matched opponents applying their strategies and techniques to win a boxing match. They were watching an was overly hesitant light heavyweight winning a careful, risk-avoiding fight vs a blown up middleweight.
Bivol failed to impress just as Canelo in my opinion.
