Review: 2011-11-05, Kirkland starts strong but after 28 seconds of the first round he is already down, so Alfredo Angulo tries to end the fight throwing a lot of punches in the second minute of the fight but James Kirkland survives and comes back in the last minute of the first round knocking down “Perro” Angulo! Then the fight goes on but we don’t want to unveil the result of the bout… We don’t believe that Kirkland vs Angulo could win “Fight of the Year” honors but it could be a candidate for “Round of the Year” thanks to the amazing first round. Alfredo Angulo (20-1-0) entered as the No.2 light middleweight in the world while James Kirkland (29-1-0) entered as the No.49 middleweight.
