British fighters are good but simply not at the level of elite boxing (with some very honorable exceptions, of course). Martínez is a good fighter but he’s not well known in Mexico, and I can think of many other flyweights who are clearly better than him. However, great and tough fight with a nice finish.
It is a real shame that just a power puncher (as per his records) like Martinez was able to won the bout since his performance in this fight was very poor. The fight was very good but totally dominated by Selby who has superior boxing techniques and also is much faster than him. Martinez, was unable during the whole fight to present a reasonable battle to such a good boxer but very fortunate to connect the power punch that defined the fight.
I really hate the outcome, since in my opinion, a boxer skill is measured by the quality of his/her boxing techniques but never because his/her punching power. If he/she has also power that is just another welcome figure. Technically, Martinez was never a match for Selby who looks like to be from a different league,
