Crap stoppage.
But unless Joshua hit a wall at the end of that round Takam had no chance.
Super heavy weight vs a heavy weight.
Joshua needs to loos 20 pounds of muscle.
Did he ever throw a straight ?
Very Dubious Stoppage
Fully agree with your comment
This is an ugly corruption in British boxing… in the fight with klitschko in the latest’s rounds Joshua was definitely drugged out by his coaches – he looked to fresh after barely moving.
Boxing seems to bring out the worst in people’s comments, and no comment is as moronic as yours. You can say you don’t like the stoppage, but implying Joshua suddenly took some steroids in the 45 seconds between rounds, under the noses of 100 cameras, and which had instantaneous effect, when they don’t take effect for hours shows you to be the cretin that you are. Go back to bed moron.
Hey, this is exactly that it was. the same was with another so called British “great boxer” – the drug addict Tyson Fury, who was pumped with cocaine while boxing and everyone knew it.
Abysmal difference in size and a bit boring fight however it was an all Joshua’s bout. I don’t understand how come it goes for so long since Takam wasn’t a good opposition. Joshua was a bit slow and anticipated a little bit much some of his punches.
That’s the way I saw it, too. Looked like a heavyweight vs. a middleweight. Joshua seems to be getting bigger, more muscular, but not more dangerous.
Joshua was tentative yes but takam not good opposition i disagree he very dangerous and his biggest problem is if you get lured into a shootout because his chin is insane
Cheap shot Takam did headbutting Joshua in the nose like that.
Wow really another early stoppage fuc$ these refs
Very good performance by Joshua, Takam is a lion.
While I would have the fight continue I can understand referee decision. Takam chin is rock, but those hits are dangerous.
A little note about the website:
I love it, many thanks for providing so great, spoiler free contents.
However I’d like to report that on iPad the top bar doesn’t show (it’s somehow hidden over the top screen), so menus are not reachable.
Also I can’t see how to rate a fight.
Keep up the good work! :)
Mate that stoppage was way to early!
Takam still had potentially 9-10 minutes left to work to his game plan. Which was to take the muscular Joshua into the later rounds and hope to catch if he gases!
The Stoppage was anything but professional for an experienced referee who to that stage had been having an easy night,it’s professional boxing for gods sake when a pro wears 3 good shots and wobbles only slightly you don’t bear hug him in an almost preemptive tackle to stop the fight!
This being said I thought Joshua didn’t do much wrong, he didn’t get hit ,he didn’t get into an early shoot out and he doesn’t clinch much and bore his fans.
Well done Anthony on another title defence!
A great boxer and personality.
joshua totally scared because of headbutt.. it could end sooner if wasnt of headbutt tactics
The great british hope was clearly winning the fight on points; however as the saying goes ” it aint over till the fat lady sings”. In my opinion the stoppage was premature. Had the ref let the fight continue ( after all Takam had fought quite a few rounds with a double cut and he was not wobbled as he was earlier in the fight.) it may has seen Joshua gassed after the outburst of activity just
prior to the refs stoppage and Takam would at least have had the opportunity for a magic shot to win the fight. The way the fight was stopped left it all up in the air. Great determination by Takam and an unproven degree of competence for Joshua.
