3 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2017-09-09, tough fight with a nice finish: Wisaksil Wangek vs Roman Gonzalez 2 is close to get four stars!

The Wbc super-Flw champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (also known as Wisaksil Wangek) entered this fight with a record of 43-4-1 (39 KOs=91%) and he is ranked as the No.1 super flyweight in the world. He suffered his last loss when he faced Carlos Cuadras in 2014 (=Rungvisai vs Cuadras), since then he has won 15 consecutive bouts defeating Roman Gonzalez in his last one but it was a controversial decision (4-stars fight, Gonzalez vs Rungvisai I).
His opponent, the former world champion in four different weight classes Roman Gonzalez, has a boxing record of 46-1-0 (38 KOs=83%) and he entered as the No.2 in the same weight class. Before losing to Wisaksil Wangek, ‘Chocolatito’ had won twice in 2016 beating McWilliams Arroyo (=Gonzalez vs Arroyo) and Carlos Cuadras (4-stars fight, Cuadras vs Gonzalez). Roman Gonzalez vs Srisaket Sor Rungvisai 2 is valid for the WBC World super flyweight title (Rungvisai’s first defense). Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. From the relentless pressure and durability, big punching power, and that hands-low southpaw style, Sor Rungvisai reminds me a lot of Khaosai Galaxy. Nightmare match up for for Gonzalez. Kudos for him on taking on the rematch.

  2. Good fight but most likely the career of a great and offensive boxer is over. Unfortunately for “Chocolatito” his rival was more accurate and able to connect real strong power punches with almost total domination. Chocolatito’s main problems were low punch activity and lack of confidence. He was also slow and not able to find the proper way to fight his southpaw opponent who was brutal while attacking. I feel really sad about him because he was one of the real leaders in this sport. The Thai was really good and he has a promising future in this category because he is full of confidence now (after winning over Chocolatito 2 times ) and a very powerful puncher.

  3. As the commentators said, Choclatito never entered the building.
Unlike the punch stats I wasn’t amazed that Rungvisai got the nod for the first fight. Gonzales never changed what he was doing and kept getting caught by the right hook ans straight left.
Now in this short fight he tried nothing to over come
those 2 things and this time Rungvisai had trained specially for it.
2nd best KO of the year so far.

So does Rungvisai fight Estrada or rematch with Cuadras to try to avenge that loss. Or does he do the unexpected and fight Inoue?|
In my mind Estrada and Cuadras rematch while Rungvisai fights Inoue in a build up to the winner of those 2 fights fighting each other in a “mega” fight.

  4. WTF only three stars? Exiting, violent, all be it a short fight. However, amazing finish and also quite an unexpected turn of events. It deserves four stars and that is also what the 35 votes are suggesting.
