Review: 2000-02-19, the first fight between Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera was a real war in fact it deservedly won “Fight of the Year” honors (Ring Magazine). The undefeated Erik Morales entered the fight with a record of 35-0-0 while Marco Antonio Barrera had a record of 49-2-0 (he had lost twice with Junior Jones). This first fight was valid for WBC and WBO super bantamweight titles. Watch the video!

highlights
Best fight ever, I had it 7-5 for Morales but you really need to watch with the sound down because the commentators are very biased in the underdogs (Barrera) favour & can sway you in close rounds.
A draw is also fair, both guys were phenomenal & probably left the best of themselves in that ring after that.

fantastic fight. I know its just the highlights but find the full fight online amazing. really is. I thought it could of gone either way. we will not see warriors in boxing like that again.
Terrific fight, it’s always great to see a crowd of mixed supporters. I disagree with the decision. Even though the fight was awfully tough to score and the knock down in favor of Barrera was not a real knock down but an unintentional error from the ref, I think it should have gone Barrera’s way.
Anyway, it’s fun reliving old fights and not losing time to find the good ones because of ATBF. Any projects of going before 2000? I know this must be quite some work.
Watched it again. I had Barrera winning 9 rounds..
