  1. Like the English’s movie, the “BIG TRAIN ROBBERY”. How come the judges get a result like this? Of course they went all for the champion who missed most of his punches in the air and running during the whole fight. The judge that gave Ricky 118-110 is totally useless and delusional. Kiryl fully deserves a revenge.

    • I wouldn’t say it was a robbery, but I agree that the 118-110 is totally foul ball. From my point of view, it seemed like Relikh dominated the first 3 rounds and after that, round 4-5-6 were very tight. Burns started to clearly win rounds from the 7th and 8th. I’m not saying he didn’t win any before, maybe one or two. From then on though, it seemed like Relikh’s tempo dropped dramatically. He was simply moving foward without moving his head, without switching stence and creating opening like he did in the earlier rounds. But he found a second wind. Rounds 10-11-12 were very close, but I gave Relikh’s the last two. Still, I had Burns ahead by a round on my final scorecard. He would watch a rematch since I really enjoyed the way both guys played their cards and create a very intriging story.

      • Olivier: I still sustain that the judges card score was a robbery since one of them saw Ricky winning 10 rounds and the other two winning 8 out of 12, which in my opinion it is totally biased and completely wrong. The fight was much closer than that since half of it (round 1 to 6) was dominated by the relentless aggression of Kiryl with a champion always walking backward and missing a lot of punches. Ricky shown some recovery only after round 6 and the two final ones were all Kiryl again as you correctly quoted. So the final result should be no more than one round difference between them and in my opinion still in favor of Kiryl.

        • I scored it as Olivier did — a one-round win for Burns. Experience and craft over raw talent. Even so you are right, Tango, about those rotten judges.

Relikh has a promising future. He needed a few more fights against better competition before he was ready to take Burns, but he is nearly there!

If Burns fights Broner, I’d normally pick the faster, harder-hitting Broner. But this is Broner we’re talking about; he may be back in jail or 300-lbs. by fight night.

          • Arjay: Yes one round difference could go either way so I’m OK with that.
However, what it bother me very much is the judge attitude, like in this case, because it tarnish this sport. On the other hand , I didn’t mentioned at all the potential knock down they didn’t accounted for since I wasn’t too sure after watching such event 3 more times. But most likely it was an ignored knock down based upon on fight location and the way all these guys proceeded. Very bad indeed since Kiryl was fighting off against four another strong opponents also.

  2. relish beat burns and did so by 2 or 3 rounds. landed the cleaner punches and also dropped him which they didn’t call. not a fair way to take his 0. but that boxing sometimes

    • SCL, I thought Burns took it by a round. The knockdown would have changed everything, though, if it had been scored! Looking at the sequence in replay, it’s clear Relikh landed two of the first three punches in the combination and caused Burns to stumble. The champ was losing his balance. It’s very close to being a knockdown in my book.

But the British judges were sh*t, so even two points wouldn’t have saved Relikh on their scorecards.
