Breazeale was less of a punching bag than I thought he would be. Great fight for Joshua, bring on Wilder! :)
He was a punching bag the whole fight lol Joshua just wasn’t really rushing for the W, which is good.
Matt: I fully believe that Wilder isn’t competition for Joshua since, lately, he doesn’t fight with the confidence that Joshua does.
Joshua looked ordinary tonight especially his right hand throwing too many wasteful shots.
luckily Breazeale has no damages. He needed two three years more of experience. Often in USA the boxers are thrown in hard fights too early. Sadly I sense the Breazeale has no patience and want matches he is not ready for. Joshua still unchallenged. I would like some name with experience as next challanger or a big fight. I see only Haye, Klitschko and Fury.
A clash of two giants however one of them overwhelmed by the punch accuracy and speed displayed by the other. Technically they are many light years far away, in fact, they looks like to be from two different leagues. The jab of Joshua is impeccable and implacable till the point of being able almost to full close the right eye of Dominic. It has been a very good test for Joshua who demonstrated how easy was to beat a taller boxer than him with a very sound boxing record too. The fight from the beginning to the end just was all Joshua.
Even though Breazeale didn’t have much experience at a high level of competition, I’m pretty sure he would easily take the win against a declining fighter like Arreola. In fighting the latter, Wilder is proving nothing else than he is not the best HW in boxing right now. In my opinion, Joshua is. Actually, I think Joshua could’ve taken both Arreola and Breazeale on the same night… Okay, it’s a bit exaggerated I admit, but he always makes it look so easy…
Dominic needs to work on his jab and his timing. His jab has extra arm movement (slight drop of the hand) that Joshua could read and lacks the crisp snap — it’s more of a pawing/pushing jab. Joshua on the other hand had a crisp jab, snapping in and out without much telegraphing.
Timing is another area… Dominic is slow, but good timing can help in fights where the opponent is much much faster. He’s never going to be fast, but if he can improve his timing, he will do great.

Joshua is too predictable with his right hand. A clever boxer like Fury would time him and outbox him. Breazeale did his best but Joshua needs a more athletic guy in the ring.
