Pretty good fight with a very aggressive Mexican boxer who tried hard during the whole fight. However, Felix, who has a solid technical background was counter punching with excellent effectiveness and controlling the fight under his game plan. As soon as he passed to the offensive the fight was over. The stoppage may be was a little bit premature since Martinez looks OK in spite of not defending himself as required for a little while.
Martinez should have held or pushed off the ropes.
Those punches weren’t landing from Verdejo but kept coming.
Verdejo was technically sound but one thing I noticed is he lack pin point precision. He throws without any adjustment.
Martinez was game but no where efficient enough to be a threat.

Verdejo $125k, Martinez $15k. It never ceases to amaze me how they are paying ridiculous purses to some fighters, especially since the guy is on HBO!
