I cringed upon the replay.
Hope it isn’t serious. And sucks as I thought this would be the fight of the night.
Stuff happens, but this was so disappointing. They threw the IBF strap in there, Charles will have to prove he deserves it.
Yep, too bad. It did appear as if Martin had Glazkov on the run, but who knows what would have happened. I was not very impressed by his form which better opponents should pick apart. Btw, happy new year, Matt, and here’s to a good year of boxing!
You too, thanks :) Hope to see you frequently!
what specifically about his form?
The impression he gave me is of a boxer who expects his power will decide every contest. Off balance after throwing, wide open while hunting. I don’t want to make too much of it because I haven’t seen his other fights. Maybe he decided early on that Glazkov was no threat.
Thanks . Just looking to learn from other people’s eyes as well as mine. His form to me seemed that of a cautious fighter who will throw his power punch confidently only when he feels it will land . Very active lead hand for safety and for comfort I notice . Glazkov was in the fight however and who knows how anyone will react when the fight goes into the tired rounds
Nice observations, Secret Cinema Lagos (I like that name, btw, being a huge fan of cinema myself).
The fun of coming here is finding out what everyone else thinks, and there are some very clever people about ATBF. I come here to read them whether I have something to say about a given fight or not.
I think it is a shame though that the IBF stripped Fury of his title to throw it between those 2 guys. Do you know if they gave an explanation?
Matt, it is too bad. I didn’t hear any more than you did, but I gather it is about not keeping other boxers waiting while he fulfills his contract to Wlad. He shouldn’t have a hard time getting it back if he wants it!
Every left hand Martin threw was filled with very bad intentions and we could tell he was able to hurt Glazkov. I didn’t have much hope in this matchup but it grew on me until this slippery Coronas stamp decided it was over… I hate Coronas.
These ads on the canvas really are disgraceful. It is as if the business side of boxing, which already disdains the health and safety of its brave fighters, wished to put an exclamation point on things.
Oooh that’s nasty
Que lastima esa lesion en la rodilla.Muy buena suerte para este Martin, que se encontro con un titulo del mundo.ESto comprueba una vaz mas,que facil es hoy en dia ser “campeon del mundo”en el box.Saludos.
Pretty bad the leg injury suffered by Glazkov but he was no contest for Martin who has all the advantages. Much more bigger physically, southpaw, and a powerful puncher as per his records. Martin who shown a nice jab work to keep the proper distance could be a good prospect in this category. However, I saw him a little bit slow when throwing his punches. Something that he has to work on.
Glazkov is a good boxer but in my opinion as per current opposition he has very little chances to win a title in the category.
