Great fight, Spike showed heart until the stoppage, it looked like a very ordinary quitting job for me. Anyway, I’m not in his head, maybe something was wrong.
Eubank Jr showed a very high level of technical skills while Spike showed courage and good chin… until he quited. And when he did so, I still thought he could come back into this fight with a good powershot.. but seems like he didn’t feel like it anymore. Hats off to him, but I’m a bit disappointed because I thought this was a 4-stars fight but it ended in a abrupt fashion.
very good fight. Eubank showed an improvement with more to come. Great chin from Spike
@KOMOFO What good is a chin if you leave your heart in the dressing room?
I think he retired because he was spent and did not want to get knocked out in front of his family.
His corner pulled him out. There’s a difference.
Another great fight. Can’t believe it’s only been rated 3 stars. I think the website may need to review how they rate fights. I’ve seen some awesome fights on here that have been rated only 2 or 3 stars. I looked up Guerrero-Berto the other day & was shocked it was only rated 2 stars! Along with the Joshua fight, this is a clear 4 star fight to me.
Eubank’s offensive fire keeps getting hotter. Those uppercuts were beautiful. Look out, Saunders!
If he could be convinced to use defense more often, he’d be a challenge to just about everyone below GGG. You could see in the later rounds, after Spike cracked him several times, that he minded distance better. He’s good at it. Only when he wants to be, however. He has the ghost of Gatti in his veins.
He’s making fights harder than they have to be and shortening his career unnecessarily. But I admit it makes him a hell of a fun fighter to watch and I can’t wait to see his next bout.
