The 2012 and 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Vasyl Lomachenko entered this fight with a pro boxing record of 4-1-0 with two knockouts (but he has an amazing amateur record of 396-1) and he is ranked as the No.9 featherweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Nicholas Walters). He lost to Orlando Salido at his second professional bout in 2014 (via split decision, Salido vs Lomachenko), but then he won the vacant WBO World featherweight title against Gary Russell Jr (=Lomachenko vs Russell Jr) and he successfully defended it twice beating Gamalier Rodriguez in his last fight (=Lomachenko vs Rodriguez).
His opponent, Romulo Koasicha, has a record of 25-4-0 (15 knockouts) and he entered as the No.24 in the same weight class. He suffered his last defeat last year, against Lee Selby (=Selby vs Koasicha), but then he has won four consecutive bouts. Lomachenko vs Koasicha is valid for the WBO World featherweight title (Lomachenko’s third defense); undercard of Timothy Bradley vs Brandon Rios. Watch the video and rate this fight!

Dominance.
As expected. Bring on the unification’s.
Purses: Lomachenko 750K, Koasicha a ridiculous 35K.
Fully agree, pretty bad for the poor Mexican he did quite well considering his opponent. Boxing business are just good for the chosen ones
Yup. There should be a minimum wage when fighting for a world championship, the guy is going against one of the best talent out there for 35K? It’s a championship fight! And they expect him to have a decent training camp and pay his trainer and cornermen? Boxing needs some regulations.
yes i completely agree with you…and about boxing regulation, i would like to see boxers make the weigh-in just a few minutes before entering the ring and not the day before!!!
Daniel fully agree since it was outrageous to see the 23 pounds that gained Rios in just one day before the fight. Same was with Salido against Lomachenko but about 10 pound more, Ridiculous
Master moves with total dominion of the fight. The punch combination, speed, and accuracy are incredible. Lomachenko’s techniques are brilliant and in my opinion nothing else to learn. He isn’t a puncher but one of the best technical boxer in all the weight categories.
I wonder how Salido beat him, definitely I have to watch the Salido fight. BTW, this is mattsnow81, my former account’s e-mail’s been hijacked. :(
lomachenko was amazing, perfect techniques and movement, amazing boxers! i really would like to see him with Nicholas Walters and Leo Santa Cruz.
I think that with Salido he didn’t expect such a warrior and being his second pro fight he was not accustomed at those types of fights/wars…however it was close!
Yes, it was a split decision. Salido will give trouble to anyone, I never saw him in an uncompetitive fight :)
To be honest with you Matt I don’t know either since Lomachenko is such a good boxer. I’ll check too, I guess i put a comment in that fight.
I have the same problem with my e-mail, they got in twice. So last time I changed the password again and requested a code to my cell phone to get in. Hopefull the problem is solved.
