Fight a must to watch because the style displayed. This is my first time to see Valera fighting and it was fun. He is a very technical and fast punching boxer that has the capability without effort to change the stance when needed. It is difficult to say if he is an orthodox or south pawn boxer. Sometimes his stile is quite similar to Sergio Martinez one and in other occasions resemble Adonis Stevenson.
He is a real showman which in my opinion he should cut a little bit in order to allow making the fight more fluent. However, he probably use this to frustrate his opponents like this Russian, who was very good but in the 6 round he got crazy.
One of the Russian judge should be banned for good (111-117) since he is blind or fully corrupted. The other one (115-113) punished at least for 6 months to prevent him for participating in near future matches.
agree with you he should cut it out if he can but it seems the showmanship display is part of him. he is fast strong and id like to see more power in his punches he doesn’t plant his feet because he is defensively aware and ants to hit and not get ht. i think he has power we may see in the future the russian was good but needed to not give valera the space and time and needed to outwork valera and the corrupt judges would have given it to him
