2 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2015-06-13, Evander Holyfield’s face at the end of the fight tells everything: disappointing fight, Deontay Wilder vs Eric Molina gets two stars.

The undefeated Deontay Wilder entered this fight with a perfect boxing record of 33-0-0 (32 KOs=97%) and he is ranked as the No.4 heavyweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Wladimir Klitschko). In his last three bouts Wilder beat Malik Scott (=Wilder vs Scott), Jason Gavern (=Wilder vs Gavern) and Bermane Stiverne (fight in which he has won the Wbc belt, Stiverne vs Wilder).
His opponent, Eric Molina, has an official record of 23-2-0 (17 knockouts) and he entered as the No.44 in the same weight class. He suffered his last loss in 2012 when he faced Chris Arreola (=Arreola vs Molina), since then he has won five consecutive bouts beating Raphael Zumbano Love in his last fight. Wilder vs Molina is valid for the WBC World heavyweight title (Wilder’s first defense). Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. Not sure what to say.
I left during the 7th round. Wondering who’s the next C class fighter
    Wilder will fight?
I really wanted to see Wilder Vs Fury. But that wont happen since Fury is up for a payday against Klitchko – something I would do myself. $$$!
After this fight and getting rocked by a C class fighter
Anthony Joshua is out and I believe they wont even take Povetkin – which is to bad as I see even Povetkin stopping Wilder. Small guy Cunningham is tied up with a fight with Tarver.
Guess we should be looking for someone out of the top 15 who gets stopped to be his next opponent.

    • I want to see Wilder Klitschko. Hope he will have enough experience when it happens. Should be able to floor klitschko with a good shot. Fury will propably lose.
Joshua is very promising, love his style. He will be the best at some stage, he might even be already.

      • I think the only chance to see Wilder winning over Klitschko is waiting 10 years, so Wilder will be 39 and Wladimir 49 years old!!! After this performance (I don’t understand why Molina didn’t try to finish him in the third round!!!) I think again he is not a A class boxer….I had changed my thinking after the fight with Stiverne but I have to change it again…
Now I hope Wilder will face Povetkin who won the Wbc eliminator, and then I ll understand if he is A class fighter or not

        • Very true. i hope, i HOPE that mistake in 3rd was bec he underestimated molina. a bit reckless and molina got a good shot in.
Stiverne fight was better, and he was a better fighter than molina. Wilder has a good punch though, and klitschko was already floored by B-Class boxers. I still think wilder has a better chance at winning against klitschko than fury does.

          • Which B Class was Klitchko floored by?
He suffered from Hep C for a portion of his career (the last 2 TKO losses) Purity is a one punch guy. Which was a good fight. Go watch older fight video.

  2. guys…you should post a full fight video. this one is a shame. post a full fihgt video or nothing! That is the reason why i like this page so much, but take care of what you do! The last fights were in a really bad quality or just highlights, Thats just not the way it should be!

  3. Fight was OK because the knock downs observed but I saw Deontay a little bit slow with no much willing to finish the fight right away. Instead punching Deontay was pushing down Eric in several occasions for no reason.
In my opinion this fight was a good one to be completed in no time since Eric, a guy from nowhere, was not a treat at all for Deontay. He should choose better opponents in view of fighting in the near future for the tittle.
I believe, because Eric low level, Deontay was too confident keeping his arms too low during the whole fight which in fact could be a big mistake when fighting a boxer with good qualifications. For this reason Eric was able to connect a good chin punch in the third round that made Deontay’s legs a little bit unstable.

  4. Wilder’s way overrated. Obviously good enough to be WBC title holder in our era but gets Ko’d by Klitschco, Fury and Joshua for sure. I think Cunningham outboxes him in 12 rounds. Funny how you can be a champion these days by fighting no-one significant!
Good luck to him but I dont think he’s that good!

    • Klitschko most likely would be the winner if they fight in the near feature. Regarding Fury, I DON’T THINK SO. He is clown that get use to fight with boxers of low caliber also and shorter than him.

  5. Nice physique for Wilder, but I’m afraid that is his only appeal. He’s boring. Pit him against Klitschko so we know who’s best and let’s watch other divisions afterwards.

  6. To all those who say Wilder is overrated, I would love to agree with you all… But the thing is the HW division is so ill right now that it would be hard for me to name more than 5 guys who could win against Wilder.
1- Klitschko (in the most boring unification fight ever…)
    2- Povetkin (now we’re talking!)
    3- Chagaev
4- Fury?… (not even sure about this one)
    5- … and …? help me.

    • Anthony Joshua… He should be Nr. 2 in your list ;)
brilliant technique and heavy hitter. good amateur boxing school. has his hands up always, and a beast, just look at him.
Klitschko did sparring with him a couple of times and said he will be number one at some stage

      • Yes, “at some stage” ! … But he has only 13 pro-fights behind the belt. So far, the quality of his opponents was quite low and he still has a lot to prove. But I can see him in a world championship fight by the end of 2016 if he keeps up this pace.

    • Please add Joseph Parker to your list. He hasn’t much experience yet but he is a very good prospect with sound techniques

      • Yeah! I saw him fight for the first time last weekend and I was really impressed. Looking foward to his next fights!
