Most definitely! As he said himself: “The guy was to heavy for me (…) I want a rematch at 168”. But what was he trying to prove going into this fight anyway? And is it me or Chavez Jr is expecting and getting (to a certain extend) some kind of immunity/special treatment from the referee?

WTF was up with the Ref – Rd 4 Chavez threw 4 straight low blows with ref looking straight at them. Also warning Fonfara for pulling head down when it was Chavez leading with his head every round.
Finally in the 6th a warning for 2 more back to back low blows.
Again Rd7. – ok for a stern warning but a point deduction. No.
Then look at Chavez leading with the head again.
Rd 9 commentators saying about Chavez “a 160lber who really didn’t fight at 168”. Uh He more than likely is outweighs Fonfara here. Just used diuretics to shed weight to fight much smaller opposition…

Chavez “2 lbs is to much for me” … HAHA. This isnterview was 2nd to Tyson – “I broke my back” … LMAO. And at least the score cards were correct – will let the -1 point deduction round slide. Most judges do that even though it is technically incorrect (IE auto win round with a knock down or point deduction)
And remember Fonfara is not a puncher.
So will Chavez go to 168 or even back to 160?
All 3 divisions have people who punch harder and are technically better than Fonfara.
I think the only weight division he could be competitive is the 160=middleweight, but he would struggle to make weight!! I can’t see a good future for him
The fight was totally dominated by Fonfara. He out boxed Julio with very fast and nice combinations. The punch that produced the knock down was definitive and sealed the result of this fight.
Julio was a full-time complainer (he feels he is untouchable being part of the Chavez’s clan) and the point discounted to Fonfara was a mistake from the referee since the shoulder was placed by Julio before Fonfara connected his. This is a good lesson for the Chavez’s clan and his boys aren’t like he was.
