The undefeated Gennady Golovkin (27-0-0, 24 KOs=89%) entered as the No.2 middleweight in the world while Curtis Stevens (25-3-0, 18 KOs=72%) entered as the No.13 (currently the #1 in this weight division is Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez). ‘GGG’ Golovkin vs Stevens is valid for the WBA and IBO middleweight titles. i think Golovkin didn’t knock Stevens out in the early rounds because he bet on himself he would have won after the midpoint of the fight….this is the only reason!
I’m a big fan of GGG, but I saw some defensive deficiencies such as awkward looking backstepping to avoid punches, and not enough head movement. Other than that, GGG has stupendous power, and made a very tough Stevens look like a bullied schoolyard pre-teen.
thanks very much for the link, this site has become my go-to for fights of all types!
