It was a close fight, Beltran did fade a little, but was being aggressive the whole fight. Lundy in my opinion was too defensive at times ( great counter punching and jab but not enough aggression) To get the win “Lundy” had to look like he was in control of the fight. He looked more like he was just trying to keep Beltran guessing, touching him here and there, landing a couple of hard hard shots when he could, but no establishing him self as being in control and dominant of each round. Lundy gave rounds away to the aggressive Beltran by laying on the ropes, and walking away in defensive posters, which gave the impression that he needed to reset, take a breath from the action to nullify Beltran aggression. When you do that it gives the Judges the impression that the more aggressive fighter is controlling the pace and controlling the other fighter. like Judah said (who was commentating in Teddy absence) “Defense Wins Fights” it does when you use it to set up hard dominating combinations or an offset punch that will hurt or knock a guy out (like Floyd Mayweather, Joan Guzman, Adrian Bonner) but that was not the case for Lundy, who maybe was thinking too much about looking good at home and maybe hoping for a hometown decision if it was a close fight. All in all a great fight, good win for Beltran who basically out worked Lundy in his Hometown for a tough well deserved win. ( the judges got it right for once)
